WHAT Embark on an unforgettable trail running adventure through the alpine wonders of Slovenia, exploring the steep peaks of the Julian Alps to the beautiful valley of the Soča river and the scenic pastures of Mount Krn and Rombon. This is trail running wanderlust at its finest — a journey where we run through some of the most beautiful landscapes, connect with local people, and immerse ourselves in rich traditions along the way.
WHO This trip is not for everyone. You do need to be an intermediate to experienced trail runner, that is comfortable on technical and steep terrain. We do offer different distances each day, and always the option to skip a day, which helps us to accommodate runners of many levels. We are available for training tips and advice for those who are new to this kind of running. If you have any questions about your ability to partake in this trip, please email us. This is a great trip to train for, so if you are not ready yet, you can get ready!

Day 1 - Sunday, September 13th: Bled | Arrival Day

Day 2 - Monday, September 14th: Bled | Karavanke mountain ridge run

Private Transfer to Pristava Mountain Hut
Run: 21km along the scenic Karavank Ridge, with views of the Julian Alps and Austrian Lakes. 1250 meters of climbing today. 12.5 km Shorter run option available
Run Details: The run unfolds along a spectacular high line: Mt. Golica – Mt. Klek – Mt. Hruški Vrh – Mt. Dovška Baba, a continuous ridge run with wide-open views. To one side, the sharp limestone peaks of the Julian Alps dominate the skyline; to the other, Austrian lakes shimmer far below.

Day 3 - Tuesday, September 15th: Pokljuka | Above Pokljuka plateau run

Run: 22km trail run through Triglav National Park along the Pokljuka plateau. 1120 meters of climbing today. Shorter run option available.
Run Details: Today’s route stays high and wild. Starting directly from the hotel, the trail winds across the Pokljuka Plateau, a vast karst landscape of spruce forests, alpine meadows, and hidden clearings. Running from Zajavornik to Blejska Hut and Rudno Polje, we are fully immersed in Triglav National Park. The terrain is smooth and runnable, yet constantly scenic, with glimpses of rugged peaks circling Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia and a national symbol.

Day 4 - Wednesday, September 16th: Bohinj | Triglav Lakes Valley Run

Private transfer to Lake Bohinj / Blato Mountains
Run: 24km through Triglav lakes valley. 1000 meters of climbing today. 18km Shorter run option available.
Run Details: After breakfast, a short transfer brings us to the Blato mountain pasture, the gateway to one of Slovenia’s most iconic trail-running routes. The trail climbs gently past Koča pri Jezeru Hut and into the legendary Triglav Lakes Valley, a glacial corridor dotted with crystal-clear alpine lakes, limestone walls, and open meadows. This is often considered the most beautiful area of Triglav National Park—and it’s easy to see why. From the high alpine world, the route descends toward Komna Hut, then drops dramatically past the roaring Savica Waterfall, finishing along the shores of Lake Bohinj.

Day 5 - Thursday, September 17th: Bohinj | Rest day | Canyoning

Free time to relax, swim, or stand up paddle board at Bohinj Lake
Run Details: A well-earned rest day in the Bohinj Valley. After breakfast, the morning brings an adrenaline boost with canyoning in the Grmečica Canyon—jumping, sliding, and swimming through sculpted rock pools and waterfalls. The afternoon is free to relax: swim in Lake Bohinj, enjoy café time by the water, or simply let tired legs recover in a serene alpine setting.

Day 6 - Friday, September 18th: Bovec | Soča river Trail run | Rafting

Start the morning off with a rafting trip down the Soča River
Afternoon Run: 17km along the Soca Trail. 350 meters of climbing today. 10km Shorter run options available
Run Details: The run begins in Trenta Village, following the legendary Soča River downstream toward Bovec. The trail stays close to the river’s unreal emerald waters, weaving through forests, wooden bridges, and rocky gorges.

Day 7 - Saturday, September 19th: Mt Rombon

Run: 8km, 12km and 17km options for todays run. Experience Mt Rombon, WW1 infrastructure, Kluze fortress, and more. 400-1600 meters of climbing depending on which run you choose
